Frankfurt is seen as one of the cradles of German techno culture. The “Technoclub” series started here in 1984, followed by Dorian Gray at the airport and Omen in the city centre, and the “Sound of Frankfurt” became known worldwide. Today MOMEM at Hauptwache tells that story. These days the clubs are mostly in the west: Adam Riese on Mainzer Landstraße, Tanzhaus West and Tokonoma on Gutleutstraße. Silbergold is near Konstablerwache.
